Manfield Park Chapter XXXIX

In which we find our gentle heroine returned to her family home, only to discover a household far from the peace and propriety she once knew, where disorder and harshness abound, and tender affections are scant. The contrast between this noisy, careless abode and the tranquil, well-ordered Mansfield Park serves to deepen her yearning and reflection, revealing much of her delicate spirit and earnest desire to be of use amid adversity.
