from Mainly Moonology with Yasmin Boland · host Yasmin Boland

"What is the ultimate goal of a mantra? To transcend sound and bring you into silence."This week, we are revisiting a special interview we had with Dr. Kulreet Chaudhary. We talk about mantras and their meaning - looking at the mantras word-per-word and as a whole to help deepen our practice. We begin this episode by understanding a Beej or Seed mantra a little more to help our understanding of the mantra. Here's one of the mantras we look at in this episode: Om KreemMaha KaliSarva Rogam Nasi NasiThis is a chant that invokes the energy of The Goddess Kali. We go a little bit deeper on the kind of transformation and transitions a mantra allows us to have. We also talk about Dr. Chaudhary's book, Sound Medicine: How to Use the Ancient Science of Sound to Heal the Body and Mind. She talks about the ancient Siddha Lineages, the first and most primitive lineage of Ancient India that flourished from the Pre-Vedic Era. They were able to create life through the use of sound and vibrations - AKA mantras. *A quick note: This video was recorded during the beginning of the Covid19 pandemic and some references may be dated.
