Mar 12, 2026: Canucks Captains and Community centres

from Sekeres & Price Show

Is it really happening?! After years and years of being the butt of jokes, the Canucks' possible practice facility plans are front and centre on today's show. Matt and Blake look at the possible location and what would need to be done to get it up to NHL standards. The guys look at what it does for the team's acquisition of players and what might have been lost without one for all these years. The guys also listen in on the comments of head coach Adam Foote yesterday, who talked about a new wave of constructive communication amongst the players in the dressing room, lauding the leadership shown in recent weeks. Matt and Blake debate how that reflects on the captaincy of Quinn Hughes, and the leadership of guys like Miller and EP40. The Daily Hive's Rob Williams joins the show to dive headfirst into the Canucks' practice rink story. Rob weighs in on the rink's location and what it would mean for the team and the community but he also tackles some of the concerns around the collaboration with the city too. Then Rob gets into the questions of leadership and culture inside the Canucks dressing room and what that might look like in the future without the likes of Hughes, Miller, Garland and whoever else leaves this summer. TSN's Frank Corrado drops by for his weekly visit and has a breakdown on the play of the Canucks' young defencemen in Buium, WIllander and Elias Pettersson. Frank talks about the value in the Garland trade, plus whether he sees any other veteran trades providing useful future assets for the Canucks this summer. We also hear Frankie's opinion on what a practice facility means for a player. Then Matt and Blake finish up with a look at the incredible stories coming out of the World Baseball Classic, including a Canada/USA quarterfinal. They also preview the Whitecaps vs Seattle tonight in a Champions Cup showdown, plus the PGA's Player Championship loses a contender and maybe the tour loses a few tournaments?!Thank you to our great sponsors:@bet365: It's never ordinary!
