Real humility is not polite modesty or putting yourself down. It's not thinking less of yourself, it's thinking of yourself less. This humility Lacks excessive concern about personal status, focuses on how “we” win, not on how “I” win, is slow to point to personal contributions but quick to point out accomplishments of others, asks for help, admits faults, and accepts advice. The first step in fostering this kind of humility is confronting our insecurities by identifying them, saying “no,” talking back and shifting the focus from “me,” to “thee.”
