🎙 Episode 88 of the GMI Rocket show is a special one for me: I get to talk to and profile long-time colleague and friend Marc Pavlopoulos, CEO of Syndesus, about Canadian immigration and how US tech companies can benefit from it. Marc, whose roots are from Greece but who was born in and grew up in the US, attended business school in Toronto, and worked in a number of startups, both in Toronto and Silicon Valley. Over those many years in the startup world, Marc recognized that one of the biggest needs most startups had were tech workers. At the same time, his experience getting a student visa and a work visa in Canada made him realize how much simpler Canadian immigration was (and is) than US immigration. So in 2014, he left his last job and launched Syndesus, which now helps US companies hire foreign-born tech workers remotely in Canada (focused on those who lose the H-1B lottery), matches vetted, skilled tech workers with Canadian employers, and provides PEO services in Canada.
