Marc Ribler, Little Steven & The Disciples of Soul: "Chemotherapy feels like death"

from Everyone Loves Guitar · host Craig Garber

Marc Ribler Interview: What a story! Marc dropped out of high school at 16. He started writing songs shortly after and a random NYC session led him to getting some of these songs recorded by other artists. After becoming disillusioned with the music business, another random event led him into busking on the streets of NY (and making a good living at it!) for 2 years. Then, an unexpected medical diagnosis sidelined him for a few years, after being hospitalized for 4 months. After recovering, he re-entered the music business, first as a successful writer of commercials, then gigging locally and regionally, and finally getting a break which led to him becoming the guitarist and Music Director for Little Steven & The Disciples of Soul. Great cat, LOADS of passion Marc Ribler is a NYC Guitarist, Singer, Songwriter, Producer. Currently Musical Director for Little Steven and The Disciples Of Soul, he has written and produced over 40 songs for major label recording artists throughout the world. His songs have charted in Billboard Hot 100, The American Top 40 Kasey Casem Count Down, as well as Top 10 hits in Canada & abroad. He's performed with Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen, Elvis Costello, Darlene Love, Ian Anderson, Roger McGuinn, Rick Springfield, Peter Wolf, Southside Johnny, Steve Forbert, Rick Nielsen. He also writes and performs TV, Film, and Radio Ads.
