Após dois anos como parlamentar municipal, tornou-se o presidente da Casa Legislativa no biênio 2023-2024. Nas últimas eleições, foi reeleito com 10.812 votos. “A sensação é de confirmação, de que trabalhamos bem nos quatro anos”, disse o ex-presidente da CMC no podcast Você Me Representa. Fachinello complementou dizendo que o segundo mandato traz uma responsabilidade dobrada – especialmente por ter mais que dobrado a votação recebida (em 2020, foi eleito com 5.326 votos). Na época de presidente da CMC, Marcelo Fachinello disse que foi preciso ir além do mandato legislativo, tendo responsabilidade de administrar a instituição parlamentar municipal.
