This single word in the original Greek—dipso—carries the weight of eternity. We discover that Jesus, who earlier promised living water to the Samaritan woman and declared that whoever drinks from Him would never thirst again, now hangs dehydrated and desperate on the cross. The irony is staggering: the Creator of water cannot access it. The One who sustains all things is sustained by nothing. But this is no accident.
