"Problems Don't Occur In A Vacuum, Neither Do Solutions" Guest: Janet Farnsworth Allen is joined by Janet Farnsworth, program director of Alpine Academy, to discuss Alpine Academy's unique and highly sophisticated therapeutic program, level system and token economy that assists the staff in modifying behaviors using a rational that adolescent girls understand, as well as point to the direct consequences of their behavior. Teaching interactions, role-plays, positive correction activities, and skills such as: accepting the decisions of others, appropriately disagreeing, developing empathy for others, and expressing feelings help students replace inappropriate behavior with socially appropriate behavior.
