MARCH 25 - Choosing the Right Path3-Year-Bible Reading: Proverbs 12:27–28; Judges 8 9//3-Year Bible Devotional Book (Year Two) Available on Amazon//________________________________________“Whoever is slothful will not roast his game, but the diligent man will get precious wealth. In the path of righteousness is life, and in its pathway there is no death.” — Proverbs 12:27–28 (ESV)“And Gideon said to them, ‘The Lord is with you.’” — Judges 8:1 (ESV)“But Abimelek…rose against his brothers and killed seventy of them.” — Judges 9:5 (ESV)________________________________________Life is full of choices, and sometimes it feels like the wrong path is easier or more exciting. Imagine wanting something badly—like popularity, power, or quick success—but finding that the path to it leads to danger or heartbreak. That’s what we see in Judges 9, where Abimelek chooses selfish ambition over what is right, causing destruction and pain. On the other hand, Proverbs 12 reminds us that diligence and righteousness lead to lasting life, not just temporary gain. Even in moments of doubt or struggle, like Gideon in Judges 8, God’s presence can guide you to make wise choices and avoid the trap of shortcuts or harmful decisions.Making the right choice isn’t always easy, but it’s worth it. The right path may require patience, effort, and sometimes standing alone, but it leads to life, protection, and God’s blessing.________________________________________THINK ABOUT IT1. Spot the Shortcut: Look at your own life—are there any “shortcuts” you’re tempted to take that might lead to problems later? How can you choose diligence and integrity instead?2. God Is With You: Just like Gideon, even when the path seems scary or challenging, how can you remind yourself that the Lord is with you (Judges 8:1) when making decisions?3. Consequences Count: Abimelek’s story shows how selfish ambition hurts not just ourselves but others too. How do your choices impact your friends, family, and school community?________________________________________BOTTOM LINEChoosing the right path may take effort, but following God’s way leads to life, not destruction.________________________________________PRAYERHeavenly Father, thank You for guiding me through life’s choices. Help me to see the paths that lead to life and righteousness and give me courage to stay diligent even when shortcuts look tempting. Remind me that You are with me in every decision, and help me make choices that honor You and bless others. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
