Afgelopen weekend werd in Austin, Texas de derde Grand Prix van het MotoGP-seizoen verreden. Op het Circuit of The Americas werd het andermaal duidelijk dat de dominantie van de Ducati's wel voorbij is. Het is tegenwoordig Aprilia dat de klok slaat, niet op z'n minst door Marco Bezzecchi, die in de VS alweer zijn vijfde overwinning op rij boekte. Zijn indrukwekkende reeks startte hij vorig jaar tijdens de één na laatste GP in Portugal. Hij is daarmee de achtste coureur ooit die vijf Grand Prix's op rij weet te winnen in de koningsklasse.
