Marcus Washington Jr. Final Year Breakthrough | Syracuse Orangemen Football News

Marcus Washington Jr. is a rising defensive back for Syracuse, entering his redshirt senior year with a chance to shine after a rocky start. A four-star recruit from Georgia, he’s battled injuries and inconsistent playing time since transferring from Georgia to Louisville and finally landing in Syracuse in 2024. Though he’s only logged seven games last season—mostly on special teams—he’s got the talent to make an impact, especially with his return skills and high school tape showing he can play. With Coach Fran Brown’s third season underway and a new roster taking shape, Washington’s final year could be his breakout moment on defense.
