Marcus's Story
from Blocked Britain · host Blocked Britain
Marcus is 31 and lives in Ealing North, one of London's most deprived constituencies. He's a qualified transport engineer who should be building the infrastructure his community desperately needs. Instead, he's stuck in temporary work while transport projects remain unfunded. This episode examines how HM Treasury's household budget thinking has starved London transport of investment, despite the Department for Transport's own analysis showing per-capita spending here lags far behind the national average. The engineers exist, the materials are available, but Westminster chooses rationing over building. Blocked Britain is produced independently and receives no government funding.
