In 1994, Margaret Cho got her own sitcom on ABC, called 'All American Girl.' It was the first prime time series, featuring an Asian family. But before it had a chance, a TV exec told Margaret she was too heavy, and her face too round. She dropped 30 pounds in a month, got hooked on diet medications and alcohol - which led to kidney failure. And after just 19 episodes, the series was canceled! But Margaret channeled her anger, frustration and drinking into comedy. And, Margaret doesn't shy away from anything. She hits on sexuality, politics, racism, religion, plastic surgery, and even her mom. Her 1999 stand-up tour 'I'm the One That I Want' was a huge hit. And it led to a string of tours, 'Notorious C.H.O.' in 2001, 'Revolution' in 2003, 'Assassin' in 2005, and she was part of 2007's 'True Colors' tour featuring Cyndi Lauper and Deborah Harry. Now, Margaret's at it again, touring a new show called 'Beautiful.' Plus, she's working on a reality show and just directed a short film.
