from The Odyssey Storytelling Podcast
Back in 2015, award-winning author Marge Pellegrino stepped onto the Odyssey stage and told the remarkable story of a Guatemalan refugee named Juana who escaped torture and genocide to find sanctuary in Tucson, Arizona. By recounting Juana's tale, Pellegrino comments on what the concept of "home" might mean to a refugee, the response of the United States government to a refugee crisis vs. that of the Tucson Sanctuary Project, and the kind of actions that are necessary to bring about a more just world. This episode was performed and recorded in front of a live audience at The Screening Room on October 1st, 2015, and curated by Jen Nowicki Clark.
