Janet Chapman, chief privacy officer for The Charles Schwab Corporation, serves as the primary privacy contact for the company. In this role, she oversees the creation of privacy strategy, policies and standards, and ensures that they are understood and maintained. She also coordinates the execution of privacy legislative and regulatory changes across the company and acts as liaison to various industry councils and professional groups, including the Privacy Committee of the Securities Industry Association (SIA) and International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). Chapman is also Member of the Advisory Board of the Ponemon Institute's Responsible Information Management Council. She is a frequent speaker on privacy issues.
