Kaufman of the United States District Court for the District of Maryland and practiced law in the litigation department of a major New York City law firm. He is currently working on the third edition of a casebook titled "Consumer Law: Cases and Materials," with Professors John A. Spanogle, Ralph J. Rohner, and Dee Pridgen. He has written for various publications including Advancing the Consumer Interest, Annual Review of Banking Law, The Business Lawyer, Columbia Journal of Law and Social Problems, DePaul Law Review, Encyclopedia of Housing, Federal Rules Decisions, Fordham Law Review, Journal of Consumer Affairs, Missouri Law Review, The New York Times, Ohio State Law Journal, the University of Pittsburgh Law Review, Washington Law Review and Wisconsin Law Review. He also has an article forthcoming in the William and Mary Law Review. His writings have been referred to in numerous casebooks, treatises, law review articles, and court decisions
