Maria Thomsen

from Air Time Podcast · host jody wachniak

Maria Thomsen, originally from Denmark who now lives in Pemberton, BC. She started snowboarding rather late in compared to most. After achieving complete boredom at university she decided to come over seas with some friends and try snowboarding at the age of roughly 20. She fell in love with the mountains, whistler and snowboarding. Although she did end up going back home to finish her degree she soon returned to Whistler to continue snowboarding. Maria has accomplished a lot in her short time in the mountains. She went from not knowing how to carve to becoming a well respected professional boarder in a very short period of time. She's won the highly coveted "women's video part of the year" award with TWsnow, not something many can say they've done. All this while being a full time mother and over coming injuries. This podcast is about following your dreams and doing your thing, life is short and if you were to ask Maria she would probably say "whatever you want to do, you can do."
