Mariners Collapse in Heartbreaker | Spokane News

The Mariners suffered a brutal 9-8 loss to the Red Sox in extra innings, crumbling from a 3-run lead after a shaky eighth and a heartbreaking ninth. Julio Rodríguez couldn’t handle a line drive that rolled past him, allowing the tying run to score. Despite strong offensive efforts — including homers from Cal Raleigh and Randy Arozarena — it wasn’t enough. Pitcher Cooper Criswell, newly activated from the IL, took the loss on a walk-off hit in the 10th. The Mariners’ fifth straight defeat leaves them at a season-worst 10 games under .500. Time to stop the late-inning collapses if they want to turn things around. Listen in comfort:Get a discount on a Soli Pillow: http://solipillow.com/discount/dnn.
