Mark Goodrum

I was born and raised in Massachusetts. I was assigned the Drum major position at Malden High School. Once I graduated, I received a music scholarship to Grambling State University. I joined the World Famed Tiger Marching Band in August 1977 and studied Music Education. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in 1982. During my time in the band, I played drums and saxophone and was assigned a position on the dance committee. Memories of performances for the Dallas Cowboys and of the Coke Cola commercial while in the band will always be dear to my heart. After graduating from Grambling State University, my teaching career lasted 33 years. I have taught elementary, middle, and high school. Teaching jazz band, concert band and marching band was the best career. Grambling State gave me this opportunity. I retired in 2014 and spend my days working with students in sectionals.
