Mark Matthews: The Rising Tackle | Miami News

Mark Matthews, the towering six-foot-six, 300-pound offensive tackle from St. Thomas Aquinas—ranked the top tackle in his class and part of the nation’s best high school team—is turning heads with his rare blend of size, agility, and swagger. Once a basketball standout, he brings that same athleticism to football, where he’s already delivering “pancakes” to defenders on Friday nights. Committed to Texas A&M over bigger names, he’s chasing a national championship and an undefeated season while staying grounded. Nominated for the prestigious Nat Moore Trophy, he sees it as a dream goal—and a testament to his growth as a leader on and off the field.
