Markella Kaplani on Identity, Matrescence, & Mom Brain

from Holly Logan Health Podcast · host Holly Logan

Today’s episode is with Markella Kaplani. Markella’s extensive work and background in counseling led her to notice the inordinate load that mothers are expected to carry and the minimal emotional support they receive, which motivated her to pivot in her work. Markella talks about identity in motherhood, finding balance in the struggles, using “mom brain” to our advantage, and generational trauma. This is a conversation that will bring you a ton of value to your life. Markella holds a Bachelors of Science in Psychology and a Masters in Clinical-Counseling Psychology, and also holds a Special Ed Postgrad and Child Counseling certification, and worked in the special education sector parallel to counseling for 15 years. She now has her Mama Rising Coach and Facilitator certification, and is currently also training in pre- and post-partum maternal care.
