Markers

from Art Smart · host Kyle Wood

Markers were one of my favorite media growing up. I loved the immediacy of being able to draw with markers and create bright, bold colors. When I got a little older, I became frustrated with the limitations as the colors always seemed flat. Now as an adult I have found that markers are surprisingly versatile. In this episode, I talked about the artist, Tom Deslongchamp and his incredible marker drawings. You can see a video of him explaining and demonstrating his technique on his website https://www.tomdeslongchamp.com/about Tom also recently came out with a book of his drawings. https://www.tomdeslongchamp.com/shop/nowheretonowbook For this episode, my guest was Rita Gibson from Prang art materials explaining how markers are made and sharing some tips. Tao Te Ching by Laozi (Author), Stephen Mitchell (Full Audiobook) Laozi Lao-tzu's Tao Te Ching, or Book of the Way, is the classic manual on the art of living, and one of the wonders of the world. In eighty-one brief chapters, the Tao Te Ching looks at the basic predicament of being alive and gives advice that imparts balance and perspective, a serene and generous spirit. This book is about wisdom in action. It teaches how to work for the good with the effortless skill that comes from being in accord with the Tao (the basic principle of the universe) and applies equally to good government and sexual love; to child rearing, business, and ecology. Stephen Mitchell's bestselling version has been widely acclaimed as a gift to contemporary culture. The Truth In This Art Rob Lee The Truth In This Art with Rob Lee is a Baltimore-based arts and culture podcast where independent journalist Rob Lee goes beyond the highlight reel to uncover the truth behind the work—the creative process, the choices, and the stories that shape the people who make it.
