Market Street Bridge is closed for the next year for renovations

You're going to have to find a new way to get to work and school if your commute takes you over the Market Street Bridge. Market Street is now closed in both directions from Schuylkill Avenue, right in front of 30th Street Station, to 22nd Street, and it will stay closed for more than a year. The project is expected to continue through October 2027. Crews are replacing the deteriorated bridge decks and sidewalks, reconfiguring some traffic patterns, and adding bike lanes. About 11,000 vehicles use that bridge every day. Drivers and bicyclists will be detoured to the one-way bridges on Walnut and Chestnut streets.
