#MarkTheEvangelist(GospelOfMark) No.37- Get Your Jesus Behind Me

from GraceLife Sarasota · host Joe Davis

Have you ever had a moment when you were confident about something, only to realize you were completely wrong—that sinking “oh no…” moment when you discover you didn’t understand things nearly as well as you thought? I’m not great at putting things together, mostly because I get impatient and skim instructions, and more than once I’ve built something only to realize at the end that I didn’t follow the directions correctly. I remember putting together a basketball goal years ago for the NightLife kids; I got to page two of the directions and thought, “Yeah yeah, I don’t need all this, I got it.” After hours of work, I proudly announced it was ready, the kids ran outside, and immediately I heard, “Umm, Pastor Joe… the hoop’s not right.” Confidently I insisted it was—after all, I coached for twenty years—but they begged me to come look, and the moment I stepped outside I saw the problem instantly. How did I miss that? The razing I got was brutal, and I’ll never forget it. And honestly, that’s often how we get with our image of Jesus—we’re so sure we’ve got Him figured out until He shows us, we’ve been seeing things upside down. In today’s message, we look at the moment Peter tried to correct Jesus—yes, correct Him—and Jesus responds with one of the most shocking statements in Scripture, calling him “Satan,” revealing how easily we cling to our assumptions instead of God’s truth.

Faith Life Church with Keith Moore (Video) Keith Moore Keith Moore is the founder and president of Moore Life Ministries and Faith Life Church of both Branson, Missouri and Sarasota, Florida. Two of the greatest emphases of Brother Moore's ministry are the importance of the written Word and the necessity of being led by the Spirit.Having traveled extensively across the US and abroad for over 30 years, Keith and his wife Phyllis minister strongly on such areas as love, faith, healing, prosperity, and honor.Their heart is to see the lost saved, the sick healed, the distressed relieved, the broken restored, and the discouraged empowered to victory. Brother Moore says, "True Christianity is not the formal, powerless thing that so many have come to know. Real fellowship with the living Christ, the Anointed One, results in the destruction of every bondage, the removal of every burden, and the fulfillment of every good desire.
