The purpose of marriage is to bear the image of Christ. Any couple who decides to do marriage God's way can have a loving and lasting marriage. However, God's way of life is counter-cultural. The ways of God often directly oppose the ways of this world. That is why we must not "conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by changing the way we think," (Romans 12:2).
