Martinez Joins Chelsea in Historic Move | Chelsea F.C. News

Emiliano Martinez’s move to Chelsea for £7.5m sparks a nostalgic comparison to Pat Jennings’ 1977 Arsenal switch — both were 30-somethings with big careers ahead, and both brought trophy-hungry ambition. Martinez, a World Cup and Copa America winner with Argentina and Europa League champ at Villa, joins Chelsea seeking more silverware on a three-year deal. Despite recent injury concerns, his Premier League pedigree and proven clutch performances make him a solid, experienced addition — especially as goalkeepers trade hands across the league.
