Marxism Got Into The Church. John Zmirak Says It Never Really Left. Today On The Eric Metaxas Show, John Zmirak joins Eric to discuss how the ideas of Charles Darwin, Karl Marx, and Sigmund Freud influenced modern Christianity. Zmirak argues that some churches tried to accommodate ideas they considered intellectually respectable and, in the process, began explaining away biblical miracles, reshaping Christian teaching around Marxist politics, and replacing traditional ideas about sin with Freudian psychology. Eric and John discuss Darwinism, Genesis, the Resurrection, liberation theology, Freud’s influence, and what happens when Christians become embarrassed by the supernatural claims at the heart of their faith. Earlier, Eric continues his remarkable story from Greece and shares an update on plans to excavate the site believed to contain the palace of Odysseus.
