Mary anoints Jesus - Audio

As people gathered for a meal after Lazarus’ resurrection – it was kind of like he was at his own wake/celebration – Mary anointed Jesus with costly perfume. This was an expression of unreserved devotion to Him; she was “all in,” giving us an example of adoration and worship to the Lord. She did this in spite of what those around her thought, including Judas, who reprimanded her for “wasting” such costly perfume. Like Mary, we need to allow our worship to be free of what others think and break out of cultural expectations. We should stand, kneel, raise our hands, sing and shout – it’s all biblical. It’s time to break out of our “worship boxes.” Jesus is worth it.
