Its mission is to provide an immersive, multidisciplinary environment focused on Tudor, Britain to engage scholars, librarians, learners, and residents of Second Life, in a sustained, cross-disciplinary environment. This presentation will look at the reasons and methods for creating Renaissance Island, the role of the librarian in immersive learning, and how to form and sustain a community in a virtual world.
