: Veteran actress Mary Twala was be laid to rest today after she passed away last weekend. Her career spanned over six decades, last year, she received the National Order Award from South African President Cyril Ramaphosa. The award is given to South African citizens who have excelled in the fields of arts, culture, literature, music, journalism or sport. She spent more than 60 years in the creative industry doing what she loved most, acting. In 2011, Twala was nominated for an Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role.
