Maryland Mens Basketball Heads to Las Vegas for Players Era Festival: A New Format and Formidable Opponents Maryland mens basketball is set to return to the Players Era Festival in Las Vegas next November, but the tournament has undergone a significant change. Originally planned as a 32-team event, it has now been divided into two brackets: an 8-team tournament early on and a 16-team Players Era Sixteen over Thanksgiving week. The Terps will compete in the latter, joining fellow Big Ten teams Michigan and Oregon, as well as heavyweights like Alabama, Baylor, Creighton, Gonzaga, Iowa State, Kansas State, Louisville, Miami, San Diego State, Saint Johns, TCU, Tennessee, and Texas Tech. Last year, Maryland had a mixed performance, winning against UNLV but losing to Gonzaga and Alabama. This year, rematches are unlikely, and there will be no conference clashes. Buzz Williams returns with just four holdovers, bolstered by six transfers and four freshmen, including five-star Baba Oladotun. Each team will receive a guaranteed $1 million, with the rest of the non-conference schedule still in the works. Support the show:Get a discount at https://solipillow.com/discount/dnn.
