Maryland OL Overhaul Begins | Maryland Terrapins Football News

Maryland’s offensive line is undergoing a major overhaul this season after a disappointing run-blocking performance last year. With two key starters gone— one to LSU, another to the Saints—the unit is rebuilding with a mix of returning talent and fresh faces. Coach’s focus is laser-sharp on fixing this group as part of a new offensive scheme. Michael Hershey anchors the middle, but Perry and Wright must elevate their play. Freshman Jaylen Gilchrist (injured last year) and Amory Hills are emerging contenders. The roster also welcomes transfer Tellek Lockette and four freshman tackles—including top recruits—who could inject much-needed depth and firepower. Despite giving up just nine sacks (best in the Big Ten), the real issue was the inability to open running lanes. With renewed coaching attention and a loaded influx of talent, Maryland hopes to transform this unit into a strength—not a liability.
