Maryland's 2026 Season Make-or-Break Battles | Maryland Terrapins Football News

Maryland’s football team is on the brink of a pivotal 2026 season, with coach Locksley under pressure to deliver after two losing campaigns. The squad is rebuilding with 71% of last year’s core, adding key transfers and freshmen to fill critical gaps. Quarterback Malik Washington, a breakout freshman, returns to lead the offense, but the loss of top three wide receivers demands new playmakers—Naeem Gladding and Chris Durr Jr. are expected to step up, alongside returning stars Jordan Scott and Kaleb Webb. In the secondary, safety Jalen Huskey’s departure leaves a void, with sophomore Messiah Delhomme and senior Lavain Scruggs vying for leadership. The offensive line also reshapes, with Isaiah Wright and freshman Jaylen Gilchrist competing for right tackle, while veteran transfer Tellek Lockette looks poised to anchor the right guard. With the opener looming, every position battle could determine whether Maryland finally turns the corner. Listen in comfort:Get a discount on a Soli Pillow: http://solipillow.com/discount/dnn.
