Masculinity vs #MeToo - How men can be men without shame

from Of Myths and Men ~ Men's Psychology · host Dr. Daniel P. David, Jon A. Parker LPC

In the wake of the #MeToo Movement, many men are feeling deflated and confused. Many media/social media outlets as well as "experts" in their fields are attempting to demonize masculinity, while asserting that being male is inherently problematic. Listen in as Dr. David and Jon discuss the recent poster campaign at the University of Texas at Austin that sought to address interpersonal violence and sexual assault while attempting to expand the definition of masculinity. On this episode they also discuss how men can display heathy traits while not minimizing their "maleness." This conversation is heavy and the hope is that men are encouraged to be men while not accepting the false idea that their biological makeup is by nature "toxic." Join Jon and Dr. David as they once again blend pop culture and psychology together, as only they can! As always, please send us feedback at [email protected]
