Mason Posa Earns Butkus Watchlist | Wisconsin Badgers Football News

Wisconsin’s Mason Posa, a sophomore linebacker, just made the preseason Butkus Award watchlist — and he’s already lighting up the college football world. After stepping in during his freshman year when injuries opened up playing time, Posa exploded onto the scene with 13 tackles against Oregon and then turned the tide in Wisconsin’s upset win over Washington with 11 tackles, 2.5 sacks, a forced fumble, and a recovery. Over his final five games as a true freshman, he racked up 50 tackles, 3.5 sacks, and a fumble recovery — finishing the season with 58 tackles, 4 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles. Now, as a leader of the Badgers’ defense, scouts are taking notice — and Posa is poised to make a serious run for the nation’s top linebacker honor.
