Mass Land Destruction a New Staple due to Lands Matters?

With the release of the new Zendikar Rising set, many EDH players are left wondering if Mass Land Destruction needs to be a new staple in their decks to hose Lands Matters decks.  I lay out my reasoning for why this is an overreaction since no one deck dominates the format and because MLD is frowned upon for a reason in most play groups since it sets everyone back, not just those abusing their lands triggers.
