Masterpieces: Nonprofits serving individuals with intellectual disabilities

The American Disabilities Act ensures that people with disabilities have access to public facilities in our country. But for our brothers and sisters with an intellectual disability – those on the autism spectrium, those with Down Syndrome, or a traumatic brain injury – when it comes to ensuring opportunities for meaningful employment, independent living, and a community of enriching relationships, that’s unfortunately left to their families and caregivers.And, thankfully, nonprofits.
