Mastodon’s Brann Dailor on Marrow Deep and Brent Hinds

Mastodon drummer and vocalist Brann Dailor joins Metal Mayhem ROC for an in-depth conversation about Marrow Deep, Brent Hinds, and the next chapter of Mastodon. Dailor opens up about grief, the band’s changing dynamic, and making the new record during an extraordinarily difficult period. Brann also discusses Mastodon’s songwriting process, Nick Johnston and João Nogueira, working with Geezer Butler and Josh Homme, and performing at Black Sabbath’s Back to the Beginning. Plus, he looks ahead to bringing Marrow Deep to the stage while keeping Mastodon’s history—and Brent’s legacy—part of the band’s future.
