MATSEN JASCH | Mere Mortals Interview # 015

from Mere Mortals Conversations · host Kyrin Down & Juan Granados

Matsen Jasch is the host of the Inner City Hermit podcast, a local Brisbane based lifestyle/comedy podcast. We start off with a common problem (that is not unique to podcasters) of comparing yourself to others. Matsen gives us a couple of tips of how to get out of this mindset and into one of mutual cooperation and collaboration. He also reveals his method of reaching out to people and how he gets such a large variety of guests on his show. The rest of the time we jump around a multitude of topics. These range from the importance of sports and making lifelong friends, our individual travel stories in Colombia, Canada, etc, why Japan is so cool and unlike any other country, wandering aimlessly through a new city and the small joys of travelling somewhere exotic, Pokemon cards and a live opening of 2 x packs, being silly and having fun by not taking oneself too seriously before ending off with some tips of podcasting consistency and the nature of the podcast game. This wasn't so much an interview as a light-hearted chat between two new friends. Matsen is an awesome bloke and make sure you check out his podcast (links below).
