He is an ambassador for many queer charities and was awarded an MBE for services to LGBTQ+ culture in 2025. As an author he has penned many novels, his latest being The Castle Of Stories published through independent publishers, Pansy, a company Matt has set up with his husband specialising in queer books by queer authors for all readers.This series is a celebration of a beautiful queer community; people of all ages, people who have had to tread their own path to live their real truth, who have fought with their emotions and emerged victorious, who inspire, who aspire and always entertain.
