MATT ZEMON | A Beginner's Guide to Psychedelics

from Order of Man · host Ryan Michler

With the use of psychedelics like Psilocybin, Ayahuasca, and even LSD becoming much more mainstream through personalities like Joe Rogan and all we hear about "plant-medicine," from some of the most influential people today, it's time we all start taking a closer look at the ins and outs, pros and cons, and features and setbacks of the world of psychedelics. Today I am joined by Matt Zemon, a Master in Medical Science in both psychology and neuroscience, and author of his latest book, Psychedelics for Everyone. I am naturally a bit of a skeptic so I took that approach on a topic I admittedly don't know a whole lot about. We discuss why the stigma around psychedelics and how did that come to be, the use of psychedelics to treat shame, blame, and guilt and other symptoms of "treatment resistant PTSD," how psychedelics have been used to help people overcome crippling alcohol and drug addiction, the spiritual journey one may discover on his exploration into these medicines, side effects to consider, and how many men are using psychedelics to expand their consciousness.   SHOW HIGHLIGHTS:   Psychedelics is a technology The psychedelic journey is often a top 5 experience Is there a benefit to shame, blame, and guilt Defining PTSD Psychedelics are not for everyone There's more to it than just "trust the science" What is a psychedelic? Psychedelics should not be seen as a "cure" Using psychedelics to get off other drugs Side effects of psychedelics   Battle Planners are back in stock.
