Matthew 13:24-30, 36-43 — Jesus’ Parable of the Weeds (Ep.048), A. Eighth Sunday after Pentecost

The Parable of the Weeds. In this week’s podcast Jesus explains the kingdom of heaven with a parable about weeds (the people of the evil one or the devil) and wheat (the people of Jesus). The parable is about the wheat and the weeds growing up together but then are separated at harvest time (judgment time at “the end of the age”). The wheat are saved and shine like the sun in God’s kingdom, but the weeds are gathered up and burned in fire (hell) where there will be great sadness and bitterness. Jesus’ parable is a promise and a harsh warning. Jesus says “He who has ears, let him hear. We should listen to Jesus’ words with an open heart and receive his message and believe. We are being warned not to be deceived by the devil. I hope this weekly podcast is helpful for you.
