Matthew 13:44-52 — Jesus’ Parables of the Hidden Treasure, the Pearl and the Net (Ep.049), A. Ninth Sunday after Pentecost

Jesus’ parables of the hidden treasure, the pearl and the net. Jesus speaks of the kingdom of heaven, as being like a treasure or pearl that is very valuable to you. It is so valuable that you would sell everything you have to have this treasure. It is the most important thing in your life. Jesus also compares the last days to catching fish in a net. The fisherman separates the good and the bad fish. So too the angels at the end of time will separate the righteous from the bad (wicked). I talk about a story where I was willing to work very hard for a “treasure” when I was in high school. I also talk about how we often avoid talking about people going to hell because it is a difficult subject. I hope this podcast is helpful.
