Matthew 2023 | Matthew 16:13-23 | Jesus, The Christ

“The Christ” is a title we’re all familiar with hearing - and repetition often causes desensitization (I feel that!). When Jesus confirms his role as “The Christ”, it has implications and anticipations that began at the start of human history, and continued gathering steam all through the Hebrew Scriptures. “The Christ” will accomplish a lot of things - but his ultimate act is to crush the Snake, and rescue his people through his death and resurrection.
