Join us each day as our community reads a passage of scripture, using the acronym BREAD as our guide. As we begin a new year this is an excellent discipline to cultivate in your life. This approach to scripture reading invites us to:BREATHE: Find a place to encounter God, ask him to fill the space, and then take a minute in stillness.READ: Slowly read through the day's passage and find a verse that stands out or grabs your attention. Write it down.ENCOUNTER: Take your chosen verse, meditate on it, and consider what God might say.APPLY: Turn your focus outward and think about how you might practically live out what God is saying today.DEVOTE: Close by writing a simple prayer of devotion to God.Seek to spend at least 10 minutes each day in the scriptures, with BREAD as your guide—journaling if you can.
