In Matthew 7, Jesus teaches His disciples, and us, not to judge others. We can't love and judge at the same time. We have no idea what is going on in another person's heart and it is not our place to judge. That is God's lane and we need to stay out of it. Jesus commissioned us to love others with His compassionate, unconditional love and spread His Gospel message of salvation to the ends of the earth. He is returning and when He does, He will judge. He continues teaching about the wide path vs the narrow path, the good tree vs the bad tree, the house built on the Rock vs the house built on sand. God knows our hearts and motives. He knows when we have truly repented and submitted our wills to His. The two paths illustrate the start of the life of faith. The two trees illustrate the growth and results of the life of faith here and now. The two houses illustrate the end of this life of faith, when Jesus returns and brings forth judgment. Jesus is Lord and has all authority. He always has and always will. It's up to us to choose to repent and humbly bend our knees to Him and His authority. When we humble ourselves to Jesus, dig into HIs Word and cling to Him with all our guts, He matures our mustard size faith into radical faith that can't be shaken no matter what may come in this temporary world around us.
