Matthew Chapter 1

Matthew chapter 1 establishes Jesus Christ as the promised Messiah by tracing His genealogy from Abraham through King David, demonstrating His rightful place in the lineage of Israel's kings. The chapter highlights God's faithfulness in fulfilling His promises throughout history and records the miraculous conception of Jesus through the Holy Spirit. Joseph is reassured by an angel to take Mary as his wife and is instructed to name the child Jesus, "for He will save His people from their sins." Matthew also identifies Jesus as Immanuel, meaning "God with us," emphasizing that His birth fulfilled Old Testament prophecy and marked the beginning of God's plan of redemption through His Son.
