Matthew Chapter 10: 1-15

We continue our 'Reading Matthew in Lent' series today by reading the first 15 verses of Chapter 10 of St Matthew's Gospel. The focus falls on the twelve apostles at the start of the chapter. Jesus gives them authority to cast out unclean spirits and heal diseases. The apostles are named. Jesus then sends out the apostles to proclaim that the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand. "Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, cast out demons."
