We continue our 'Reading Matthew in Lent' series today by reading through Chapter Three of St Matthew's Gospel. John the Baptist is busy preparing the way for Jesus: "I baptise you with water for repentance, but he who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptise you with the Holy Spirit and fire." We then have the account of the Baptism of Jesus in the Jordan.
